We are proud to announce the successful completion of Project Renew, an initiative that holds profound significance for our community. Project Renew was not just about building a new shelter; it was about creating a safe, accessible, and supportive space for women and children escaping violence and abuse. 

 

Chrysalis House has served as a sanctuary in Kentville, Nova Scotia, for decades, offering crisis shelter, outreach, and transitional supports to those in need. Our mission has always been to empower women, helping them find hope and make choices that lead to a life free from violence. However, as the years went by, it became evident that our existing facilities could no longer meet the growing and diverse needs of our community.

 

In 2012, after a comprehensive needs assessment, we embarked on the journey to build a new, purpose-built shelter that would be fully accessible and equipped to offer enhanced services. This new facility is more than just a building; it is a symbol of hope and resilience, designed to serve as a collaborative space where women and children can heal and rebuild their lives. 

 

The realization of this vision would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our community. From local businesses and organizations to individual donors and volunteers, your contributions have been instrumental in bringing this project to life. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who believed in our mission and worked alongside us to make this dream a reality.

 

As we open the doors to our new shelter, we reaffirm our commitment to providing trauma-

informed services and continuing our fight against violence in all its forms. Together, we are building a brighter, safer future for all.
